Science & Art Collide

Japanese Artist, Iori Tomita, takes an amazingly intricate and colorful approach to examine the complex bodies of marine specimens. As an undergraduate of fisheries, he examined the bone structures of marine life.  He used a method to dissolve the flesh and natural proteins to make the specimens translucent, then injected vibrant dyes into the skeletal system.  His collection is entitled "New World Transparent Specimens."
